Connie and I first visited Zakynthos in 2000, staying in a small apartment in Limni Keri in the south-west of the island.

Limni Keri

Limni Keri is a quiet resort with a handful of tavernas, a souvenir shop, a diving club, a couple of cafes, a bakery and supermarket and boasts a variety of accommodation ranging from basic rooms to luxury apartments and villas. You can rent a motor boat and visit the Blue Caves or the nearby island of Marathonisi. Car, scooter and push bike rentals are available at the local ‘Pegasus’ rental.

The local beach offers safe swimming and is the ideal place for some rest and relaxation although a volleyball net is provided for those who like something a little more energetic!

Since our first holiday in 2000, we have returned each year to Zakynthos and have grown to love the Greek way of life.

Keri

This peaceful, traditional village is situated in the hills of the south-west corner of the island, about twenty five kilometres from Zakynthos town and twenty minutes drive from the airport. It has wonderful views over the cliffs of the west coast, beautiful mountain walks, and a peace-and-quiet atmosphere not found at resorts. It has the amenities you would expect to find, such as bakery, butcher's shop, supermarket, church, school, cafes and two tavernas.

Its main tourist attraction is the sunset vantage point at the nearby Keri lighthouse (1km) and situated at a nearby cliff-top taverna you’ll find the largest greek flag in the world!.
